upgrade items
If I have a sword that has +%>50%, +30life mods on it when it was dropped, am I able to apply 1 or 2 hilts to it? I have a zealous hilt and looking for a vampiric hilt, am I able to apply both?

no you already have a fortitude upgrade. I think the >50% is intrinsic to the weapon and not an upgrade(I could be wrong though)...so as I see it you can add only 1 modifier to the weapon.
you can never add two hilts to a sword...you can add a pommel and a hilt...but not two hilts |

Yes you can only had one of those hilts
and the fortitude is a pommel, so no problems there. the way it works in more technical terms. you got the bonuses: 1 to 2 mods which cant be from upgrades or cant be salvaged for one. those are usualy things like Increase damage by + 10-15% or 15-20% while or against X enchented, hexed foe, health variation, etc. you got the prefixes: hilt for swords and haft for axes/hammers those carry things like: Icy, Ebon, shocking, fiery, vampiric, crippling, zealous, sundering, furious, poisonners, etc. you got the suffixes: pommel for swords and grip for axes/hammers those are usualy: defence, shelter, fortitude, X slaying, warding, enchanting, attribute, etc. |
